This is not going to be a nice post. Then again, many articles of late all around concerning the publishing industry’s survival haven’t been nice.

I make my meager living in a viciously competitive environment. To put it politely to the Big Publishing Five, for the last several decades you were never in as much danger as the Big Tech companies were in their infancy… and still are.

Not even giants like Microsoft, who strides the tech world as unto a Colossus, are ever truly safe.¹

I’ll let that sink in.

DVD extra #10, “Tactics” is now up on the official Shadow Unit site, and has been added to the Season 2 DVD Extras pack.

Further new extras will be added to existing files as they come along (I’ll always blog to let you know).

Previously I made Journey of the West available in nicely formatting Mobipocket and ePub formats. Kate Nepveu, who also runs the illuminating Lord of the Rings Re-Read columns over at Tor.com, has converted the HTML to eReader format. Thanks, Kate!

There was a wee coding flummox in the book source that resulted in the table of contents not being interpreted correctly by the popular Stanza iPhone ebook reader. Those have now been fixed.

I first learned about this new anthology of speculative SF/F stories over at John Scalzi’s Whatever.

Thoughtcrime Experiments is available for free online under a Creative Commons Attribute-Noncommercial-Sharealike 3.0 license, in HTML and PDF formats at their site.

They did encourage folks to remix, so I decided to create various formats, as I usually do.
